Light the cyno. Tactical AI for capsuleers.
Aura announces. EVE-Cyno explains. A community-built advisor that hits live market data, parses zKillboard battles, validates your fits against the SDE, and answers in plain English — Discord-first, web chat too.
§01 // THE SPECTRUM
One beacon. Three modes.
Cyno-fields fire across the spectrum. Chat is the analyst voice — neutral, grounded. PVE walks you through ratting, abyssals, and indy. PVP reads battles and fits like a fleet commander on a fifth coffee.
The analyst voice.
Plain-English Q&A across the full toolset. Market, lore, mechanics, fits, sov — anything you'd ask in corp chat.
The patient mentor.
Ratting routes, anomaly priorities, abyss tier scaling, planetary chains, mining yield math.
The fleet commander.
Battle reports decoded, fits validated, doctrine reads, counter-tactics — for the questions Aura defers to community.
§02 // INSIDE THE BEACON
Watch it think.
No black-box guessing. Every answer is a chain of real tool calls — ESI, Janice, zKillboard, the SDE, the EVE Uni Wiki — streamed live so you can audit the reasoning.
§03 // SURFACE AREA
Six tools. One conversation.
The advisor calls real APIs instead of hallucinating from training data. Every fit is dogma-checked. Every battle URL is parsed. Every price is live.
Live ISK lookups
Jita prices, regional comparisons, Janice appraisals. No more flipping to evemarketer mid-fleet.
Battle reports decoded
zKillboard, WarBeacon, br.evetools URLs. Get composition, doctrine read, and what each side could've done.
Fits, dogma-validated
Hull + activity in. CPU, powergrid, slots, dogma rules out. No 3× Damage Controls on a Viator.
Jumps & sovereignty
Route between systems with security filters. Know who holds the constellation before you undock.
Production chains
Recursive BOM with material efficiency, blueprint requirements. Mineral to Revelation in one tree.
EVE Uni + community
3,800 wiki pages, community fits from zKill, Abysstracker, EVE Workbench — all retrievable in one query.
§04 // BATTLE DECODER
Paste a kill. Get the why.
Drop any zKillboard related-kills URL. The advisor pulls the engagement, composes the fleets, and reads the doctrine — then tells you the three moves the loser could have made instead.
- Horde flew Muninn doctrine — long-range artillery, projection > mobility.
- Goons brought close-range Vexors — caught on the wrong fight curve.
- Logi balance: 6 Basi vs 2 Guardian. Logi-to-DPS undercommitted by Goons.
§05 // FIT VALIDATOR
Dogma is the contract.
Paste an EFT block. The advisor parses every module, checks the dogma rules CCP's fitting tool enforces in-game, and tells you which slot is the one that breaks the build.
§06 // POSITIONING
Not Aura. The next layer up.
Aura is CCP's voice in your cockpit. Aura Guidance is the new rookie chatbot CCP launched in Feb 2026 — both for new pilots, both in the client. EVE-Cyno is the second-opinion advisor for the questions Aura defers to community.
The rookie companion.
In-game. Retrieves answers from 5.8 M Rookie Help messages. Not generative per CCP. Designed for the first 30 days in New Eden — and it's good at that.
The advisor in your second window.
Out-of-game. Generative LLM with live tool calling. Plain English in, grounded answers out. For when you've moved past Rookie Help and need a real second opinion on a Stratios fit, a market spread, or what just killed your Drake.
§07 // HONEST LIMITATIONS
What it can't do — yet.
Alpha. Some classes of question still produce wrong answers. Every failure becomes a regression test — the internal eval suite is the contract for every release.
- No character auth yet. The advisor doesn't know your skills, assets, or wallet — it answers from public data only. ESI OAuth2 is on the roadmap.
- Fit hallucinations on rare hulls. Common ships are well-grounded. Strategic Cruisers, capitals, and pirate one-offs occasionally need a "actually use the real bonus" follow-up.
- English-only regression suite. The model is multilingual; the tests are not. Polish, German, Russian inputs work; formal evaluation is roadmap.
- Multi-turn context drift. Aggressive caching keeps it tight, but rapid topic switches occasionally reuse the wrong URL.
- Upstream rate limits apply. ESI, Janice, zKill have budgets. We back off rather than hammer.
Open the beacon.
Alpha is free during testing. Discord-first — drop a question, we'll triage it, and if it's a known weak spot it lands as a regression test in the next release.
